Studying your GCSE

GCSE Business Studies helps you to make more informed decisions. It gives you a better understanding of the world of work.

Business Studies challenges you to think about how and why people found businesses. You will also be encouraged to explore how you would start up your own.

This GCSE course provides you with knowledge and understanding upon which you can build through further study.

This course will introduce you to the essential components of any business, including marketing, business operations and economics.

GCSE Business Studies will do more than just equip you with the required knowledge for business success. It will also allow you to explore the practical application of specific business concepts in real-world contexts.

You will able to take these skills forward and implement them with ease throughout your future career.

Getting Started

Studying your GCSE with learndirect isn’t like with traditional colleges. As a leading distance learning institution, all our courses are delivered online so you never need to worry about making it to class.

Your classroom is wherever you feel you'll do your learning best. Class starts when it suits you, not when someone tells you to arrive.

This gives you the freedom to study your GCSE around your existing commitments, as opposed to sacrificing family time to complete your work. The only specific deadline to work towards is your exam – exam sittings are held once per year in May or June.

Because the course is online, you can start right away via our online portal. This gives you the choice to decide not only when to study, but how quickly you want to complete the course.

You will also be provided with a tutor to support you throughout your GCSE in Business Studies. Your tutor will mark your assignments, providing guidance and feedback. They are also on hand to answer questions or clarify anything should you get stuck.

Pursuing your career

A GCSE in Business Studies allows you to go on to study at A-level, complete an RQF or study for an Access to HE Diploma, all of which can allow you to study Business or a Business related degree at university.

No membership is required to enrol on this course.

Extension Rules

£40 for six months, maximum of twice. If expired more than six months ago, or have already had two extensions, then they need to restart the course and pay again.

Course Fees

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

At the end of each unit you will find a Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA). This is completed online and submitted to your tutor. Once assessed your tutor will return your work complete with its final grade and feedback. Once you’ve successfully passed each assignment you’ll be ready to take your exam!

If you decide to take the GCSE exam at the end of this course and pass, you will have gained an GCSE in Business Studies. This will enable you to progress to further and higher education programmes.
